track tyre pickup - wheel ballance

Car  RB 182
Should I always have the wheels ballanced after every track day and does it matter if there is still old rubber that hasn't come off?

I still have some old rubber pickup from my last track day and it doesn't want to budge. Is it ok to use a heat gun to remove the stuff?

Cheers,

Mike

Do you mean you have patches of little bits of rubber where the tyres got hot, moved and then cooled?

I Just drove them on road for couple days and it scrubbed off the excess bits mate.

I used to just run on the road for a while and it soon got rid of all the excess rubber.

First few laps of the next trackday will do the job if you only use them on track..

Not road legal and I don't want to thrape the car around on the road to get wrid of the rubber. Yeah the small rubber balls/patches that build up and cool down.
