Trophy Alloy Refurb

Just been to http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/Fil ... etails.php for a quote and I gave them the IXELL 205 - 110 paint code. Now the chap there said we can't use that code as its a water based paint as we use a powder coating system. You will need a RAL code...

So I went over to JTB Supplies

http://www.jtbsupplies.co.uk/ and the chap there got his swatches out and got as close a match as he could that TheWheelSpecialist could use....

My concern is that the colour won't be indentical to what it is now, not good for a limited edition car....

Anyone recommend a wheel refurber in the North West that uses Ixell paint?

Don't know if it's possible to get that paint, heard it was very rare, failing that, try the speedline turini paintcode, do a search on here, it's a little darker than the trophy, I prefer it to the trophy turini colour...

What is it with renault and rare colours for wheels?

Dont get them powder coated if they are painted originally they will come out a different colour (as all powder coating does) and look rubbish.

What you tend to find with wheel refurb businesses is that the people can do silver well on any mainstream wheel, but give them a rare colour and slight problem and they dont have the will or intelligence to get it right. Its like most car body shops. They run on the get em in quick, get em out quick principle, and for most numpties this is sufficient for their generally under achieving under performing aspirations. But it wont satisfy a real enthusiast.

You might be better off finding a non wheel specialist, like a classic car restorer to paint them for you.

I dont bother getting williams wheels refurbed, as i have never seen a single wheel that looks even 80% as good as a new one.

I was told that IXELL 205 - 110 is the speedline turini paint code, :S. After all they are speedline turinis.... I stand to be corrected.

A friend of a friend is going to do mine, he has his own unit and works for himself, seen a few pics of cars he has done and they are mint. Also seen a few wheels he has resprayed and they look like new. Thats where mine will be going, just need to decide if im going for the original colour or black???

There is a place called 'apec ltd' in Norwich that are very good. They managed to get the speedline gold colour for the williams wheels for a friend. They mail order too. They are on whiffler road.

This is Rover Stone grey , nearest match i could find . Even then , the guy who mixed it had to tweak it slightly by adding a bit of extra red to make it a perfect match .

Like i said in my post above . This is the place to buy ixell paint from . They used to supply it from spraying systems but not in aerosols .

wheel on the car is oe colour, other wheel has been done by me in rover stone grey, it is a shade darker
