Trophy having a play with a Porsche GT2 on the A1(M) on friday

Had my car at RStuning on Fri morning and came up the A1 back to Sunderland on Friday teatime.

That's be about right hehe, the GT2 is just so otherworldly quick it could match a 182s pace without noticing - gets to 100 in half the time of a Clio Sport. The 997 version can match or beat almost any super(hyper)car you could mention (0-100 7.3 seconds...crazy).

It was around 3pm i think, can't remember where abouts along the A1 as i drove way to far that day to pin point it!
The Porsche was a foreign one with a French number plate.... It was black.
I didn't say who was winning!! Lol... I passed the porsche through some roadworks (he was poodling at about 40 in an average 50 zone) and then about 5 mins later these two went by in the outside lane at a fair speed! I was in the works 1.5DCI, if i'd have been in the Cup, i might have caught up to join in! lol!

How do you now it's a turbo as I didn't think we knew who it was in the Trophy? But turbo or not it'd still get wasted by a GT2.

No because after a few people quite rightly were a little bit sceptical when a GT2 is mentioned vs a clio, you piped up it was a turbo "for the know it alls", and he wasn't even sure himself if it was him so we still didn't know who it was. As I said turbo or not it would just get wasted, so it may as well not have one at all (unless it's running insane power of course).

I did have a little blast with a black 911 on Fri, but it wasn't a GT2 as it didn't have the the massive rear spoiler or the rest of the kit.

It was the usual "I'll show him what a real cars like" followed by the puzzled look "why is he still behind me?"

And whilst it's not running mega power its sporting a healthy power to weight ratio of 265bhp/ton so not exactly slow.

Must be running about 280bhp? or have you lost a lot of weight? Must feel very quick with that kind of power. Will easily keep with most 996s (in fact be quicker than the boggo 286bhp ones) and possibly be a match for the base 997s, but GT2s espeically the 997 is 599/LP640/Zonda territory.

It was actually a sprint following a set of road works from 50mph to something which could'nt be diclosed on an open forum, which was why I was suspicious it could of been me in the earlier post.

However I knew it wasn't a GT2 thats why I asked for more details.

It's a combination of a little bit of weight loss and 268bhp as well as 262lb/ft.

Kev's just putting his point across as he's actually been out in my car and knows how rapid it is from 50-130 as such he's in a very good position when voicing his opinion on the performance of a turbo charged clio trophy.

Bec you sure it was a GT2? and that maybe it was a little bit later than you first thought as I can't believe there were 2 clio trophies tormenting porsches on the A1(m) on fri?

There was no squabbling anyway - a GT2 would play with even a 260bhp Clio without much effort.

hmm,

My colleague has a Carrera 4S and my cammed Phase 1 will keep with it till just above 60 without too much trouble at all. I know a 4S is NOT a GT2 by any means, but with that in mind I don't find it hard to believe
