Trophy Work & Some Advice

Well as i have now found out that Renault UK now no longer supply sachs rear dampers and have superseded them to a standard "non" cup damper i thought i would pop down to the garage and start making a move on with some work and studying up before i now fit my rear koni's which I'm going to have to get as there is no other replacement.

I decided to pick up some stone chip from my work and do my rear arches.

Once i done the arches i then wanted to take the rear bumper off to underseal that area also as there seems to be very light water markings and small patches of surface rust one the very edge.
I managed to go that but I'm now stuck with do i underseal the back of the body also and at the back of the tail lights and around the air vents or do i mark it off by around 2inches and do the bottom lip ?

I then want to get the back box off but some some people might know the bolts are rotten and very bad so after a few hours of WD40 and a wire brush i managed to get one of them off.
Going to pop the hangers, back box and the hear shield off and once again underseal the whole floor pan.
I have bought all the new brackets , nuts , bolts exhaust hangers and everything else needed at the back direct from renault so all the items will be decent and new.

Nice work Marc, top stuff as always.
Did some research and that Tetrosyl Stone Chip seems like good stuff. Did you use black or clear stuff.
Are you tempted to strip and paint your rear beam.

You can't do the rear panel Mark, that'll look bodge as f**k, spray some clear corr protection over it. BiltHamber do one. UC I think is the code. Spraying it black will make it look like accident damage.

+1, UC is brilliant, used it on mine on places that were never undersealed from factory.

Well last night i was at the Trophy again getting the other mount off and trying my new "Home Made" power flex units.
As you can see from the pictures one of the reasons i have issues with my exhaust being perfect is down to the fact none of the bolts line up as they have sheered and snapped and replacements where drilled in so the hangers have been off line.

Then started masking the back end up to cover it for when i pop the exhaust off and the heat shield and under seal the rear floor pan and get deeper into the arches.
As said the rear panel will be done with BiltHamber UC to keep the rear looking from looking like its been in an accident and repaired.

So since i last updated the topic i was getting ready too mask it all off.

I have since taken the back box off, fitted a new gasket along with nuts and bolts and then under sealed the rear floor pan and polish up the back box and free off all the nuts and bolts. Put the rear arch liners in the dish washer (still look like sh1t tho) and build everything back up.

I have put the old hangers back on and old mounts as they will be getting changed at a later date.

I now just await my new rear sachs shocks from renault  and i wanted to replace the rear box heat shield but I'm not paying almost £80 for a bit of tin foil.

Take it you plan on keeping this a while? Amount of work and attention to detail is incredible
