Trophy Yes or no

  Clio 200

I was on this forum a few months back debating if I should sell my s2000 and get a 182fat with cup packs and recaros. I ended up selling my s2k private and getting a 325ci coupe m sport. Lovely car, rock solid, but not mega fun. Really like the sound of the Trophy, theres bog all around my area to have a look at one, so anyone who has one could you answer these qs....

1.) Does it have split rear seats? Do they fold flat?
2.) Does it have the boot net?
3.) Does it have xenons?
4.) What dont you like about it?

Cheers in advance :D

I can only help you with number 3 - No it does not have xenons

and 4) most answers.. not much! lol

Cheers

5.) Whats the fuel like? how much does a full tank cost? how many miles do you get for that?

Yeah get a Trophy - you wont be disappointed! No xenons, and I dont think the rear seats split, but by all accounts the handling is fantastic.

I dont have one, but I dont like the lack of Zenons nor the rear bench.

Love the wheels tho!

they do about 30 to 40 mpg, same as all other cliosports , and 250 - 300 miles on a tank

your figures dont add up lol

300 miles to a 11 gallon tank 50 litres 27mpg

250 = 22

Cant disagree with any of that! in fact its so much fun to give you a proper answer on the rear seat id have to go and have a look, had mine for 3 weeks now and ive never even looked in the back. Only thing i dont like is that the boot doesnt open as far as it does on other Clios (even i have to go shopping sometimes) and ive smacked my head on it twice already. That said who gives a sh*t about practical, the trophy is about big fun and it delivers that - big time.

ps. the first time i got it into the vvt zone i whooped like a teenager and i aint been one of those for about 20 years

2 more qs, thanks for the replies :D

Can someone post a pic of the dash at night?? Dont think Ive ever seen it, and a pic of the boot open? I ferry around quite a bit of PC gear in large boxes :)

You can run it @ 12ppm with 95RON if youre reasonable with it.

Thats very good for a performance car IMO.

Get one (I opted for full fat, and its lovely when it running properly).

that is of course dependant on the driving conditions, and i really couldnt not be arsed to work either out, all i know is the computer said 40 mpg on longish journeys 30 mpg on a short run to work, and i only ever got 300 miles out of a tank, so what i said still stands:D

how much to fill up? my 3 series costs £50 and does around 300 to a tank.hopeflly clio is a bit cheaper to run

  Clio 172mk2

Get a Trophy

They are awesome...I Love mine...

Im blasting most places I go... 32mpg averaging at the moment.

If I want it better I can slow down... but you will not want to slow down when you drive it!!!

i wouldnt personally, dont like the colour, cant really see the appeal over a normal 182 cup with recaros and coilovers, no quicker and doesnt look any better imo for however much more money it is.

i would go for a 182 cup with recaros if it were me, but obviously its up to you! (surely there cant be *that* much difference in the handling between a 182 cup and a trophy, would anyone really push it that hard?)

Im getting the trophy for september. 1 of 500 cars finely fettled as it were by a legend, you cant go wrong.

its not more money though, its the same price if you get one cheap!

well, at the dealers trophys are what, 15,500?

and standard 182s are going sooo cheap now. know what i would go for, a 182 with a couple of thousand miles on it for about 10k

just dont really see whats so special about them, if they were more powerful/quicker in a straight line then yes.. they cant be ridiculously quicker round corners either, lets face it, a car can only corner as well as its tyres allow and they have the same tyres right? (and a set of good coilovers would probably allow the cup to corner better than the trophy)

they will have better resale values because they are rarer, but if you buy them for a couple of k more in the first place, youre not gonna get that couple of k back when you sell it. All personal taste though...

sure its a great car either way :)

  Clio Cup

I dont know anything about cars except to some extent driving them but if you buy a normal cup and upgrade the suspension how do you know its going to be optimally set up.

The trophy has been set up by experts. Additionally recaros are about £1000 and the sachs about £3000, if you get the car for £13,000 your basically getting a brand new cup for £10,000 arent you.

if you buy a coilover kit the suspension will be set up optimally, it will look better in my opinion as it will be lower than the trophy, and will handle really well. when i went to look at the 182 cup at my renault dealer they couldnt do enough to sell me it, they offered to throw in the recaros. Its up to you though mate, either will put a huge smile on ya face, just thinkin of what i would do if it was my money... the cups dont exactly handle badly with standard setup suspension :D

I think some people might be confusing grip with handling again…
