Tunit Clio Dci 100bhp

Just considering fitting one of Tunit devices to my vehicle. The performance is excellent as it is and at £500 it seems a bit pricey.

Anyone any experience of the device be it on a 65 or 80 or 100 bhp dci like mine. Also anyone any experience of Tunit at Chorley Theycertainly get good write ups in Diesel Car Magazine. Thanks.

lol. Im not sure what kind of increase you get, but £500 sounds cheap to me. lol. You should try owning a 2.0 NA if you think diesel tuning is expensive. lol!!

£500 is too steep. have a look at dragon performance they do the best tunit / plug in boxs for diesels. my bros old TDCI 130 pushed 180 with a dragon performance box but it smoked more than a cuban. turning it down with a tooth pick under the bonnet to 170 gave no smoke but still huge performance. torque was imense at 320lbft.

obviously a custom remap will yeild more but for a 100hp dci i would look around some euro sites for boxes. certainly stay away from ktecs as its too pricey and probably can be had cheaper elsewhere.

deffo get one though and show us the results. a 100hp stock DCI with 120hp "chipped" will have more torque than a 182 hehe

lagerlout1 Are you trying to say Im a geeky diesel lover? Ok so I am.
Tunning the dci is quite cheap realy upto a point compaired with a petrol.
I dont like tunit though, I think diesel car are on a commision the amount of rave reviews they do on them. I wish they would write a review on how all these tunnings are done saying the advanages of all the types to give a fair impression.
Anyway I wouldnt pay £500 for a tunning box. Try www.mrhoot.com for £300 for one. Contact him though as the 100 isnt listed as it should be althouth he probaly has one. I dont have any links with the company I just recomend them as its better value than other tnningboxed.
However if you want the most power or the bst delivery ect get a remap from superchip (theres another company who do custom remaps but th adress is on my PC back home so I cannot gt it for two weeks) that should mak th same amount of power (120hp and 250 or so NM torque) but delivery will be btter mpg btter and its les damagin to the engine since othr bits of the maps are adjusted. However it cannot be sold on unlike a tunning box unfortunatly.
Dont get any remap or tunning box to make you car smoke though. That indicates that the injectors are overfueling (too wide an injection window) or that you havnt got enough boost and black smoke means excessive high exhaust gas temps and you can damage the engine.
The 100dci is a good engine to tune 140hp shouldt be difficult with new injectors running stock boost and a bit of smoke. Let the turbo make a bit more boost and you could push 150hp. A new better turbo o I better not go of on one again.
