Im getting a lot of enquiries at the moment on the K9K 704 LUMP ( 1.5DCI ) were customers are loosing power on there vehicles. Also the engine starts to over rev and will not stop even when you remove the key from the ignition.
The reason for the above fault is due to the turbo. What happens is the oil seals go which lubricates the impeller on the turbo. This then chucks oil into the turbo. As we all know the turbo forces air through the intercooler system and into the throttle body - this air mixes with the oil and causes your engine to actually run on its own oil !!! this will eventually lead to engine detonation.
If this ever happens to you pull the vehicle over, apply the brakes, put it in 1st gear and let the clutch out - this will stall the vehicle and prevent the above from happening.
If you havent damaged your engine and just need to fit a new turbo make sure you thoroughly clean out the intercooler and intercooler pipes of any oil which may still be there from the result of the old turbo malfunctioning.
I can supply new KKK turbos for £295 + vat and have a large selection - the same part at Renault is £874.44 + vat !!!!!!!
I also have a large selection of other turbo's if you need one for a turbo conversion eg Garrett T24
