Turbo manifold

hi all I’m building a turbo engine ready to drop into my car.

Ive seen countless threads/posts about the log manifolds not really being up to the job with issues like warping or working loose.

My question is has anyone fitted a stainless tubular? I know the tightness is a real big issue on these cars! I would like some photos if possible. I have a friend who’s a fantastic fabricator so not an issue having something mocked up!

Turbo will be a GTX2860R

I’m looking into this myself, I have spoken to a few guys and they believe it’s possible to fabricate a stubby tubular one the same size as the log... but £600. I’m thinking about doing my own

This would be a tight fit I'm sure lol.

My friend said he'd do a v-band setup for me too but still doesn't aid with the space.

I think the space will be okay, it doesn’t have to be too elaborate like ram horns with exact equal length runs or anything! The log manifold does the job and that is a horrendous design so anything would be an improvement, especially with a collector at the v band / t25 flange

If you think switching to a tubular manifold is going to fix your problems you will be disappointed, just swapping one problem for another.

Machine the manifold faces, make relief cuts and use proper locking hardware to stop bolts working loose.

Done all of the above

  dan's cast offs.
shed loads of space especially going tubular. personally never had a problem with anything coming undone on tubular and cast manifolds.

Have you any pictures of a tubular manifold in situ? Do you use yours regularly on the track?

Nice! The problem is with internally gated turbos, not being able to clock them as easily, so I’m either going to run an external or keep the turbo off the back of a log style tubular manifold, or combine both with a v band flange and external wastegate.. going to be fun having a play
