TVR Factory

Hi all

As mentioned in the TVR thread in other marques I have these pics from around the TVR factory from about 9 years ago.

If anyone can think of any reason for removing these images please let me know and I shall take them down however I didn't think it would be a problem with the factory not being there any more. I apologise for the quality my camera wasn't the best back then!

I thought a few of you may be interested in seeing some of the behind the scenes pictures. jamier27

Thanks for sharing, really interesting to see a cars progress through the build stage. Not bad for 9 years old!

I think there were only 3 or 4 speed 12's properly in existence. That included the test cars.

Just had a quick check and there were only 5 engines ever made.I remember the existing car as it is now and i also remember a white one on top gear and a silver one on a press day and thats it.

I remember they were all full FIA regulations in all cars so safer than most road cars.

The silver one is the red one. Both cerb speed 12's.

There were three speed 12 race cars and the concept car.

That isn't really something I thought to ask about, I was there on work experience at the age of 15 so I was too busy running around looking at everything but regulatory things, I wish I had asked more into it all now though.

They also had a red leather seat from one of their tuscan prototypes that they were throwing out so I cheekily asked if I could take it and to my surpise they said yes!

I love TVR's but seeing how they are made has kinda spoiled it for me. The Sagaris is my absolute favorite car but seeing the bolted together in a dusty workshiop has somewhat ruined the 'magic' as daft as that sounds.

If anything it adds to the British heritage ^^

Absolutely agree, it doesn't get more special than that really! Built by engineers, not a factory line. Great pictures, but makes me sad to think it's not around any more :(

do you still have it?

why were all the bodies just dumped outside like that?

Isnt the speed 12 the silly dangerous one that the tvr bosses wouldn't sell to the public?

Wow, just brilliant! thanks for sharing.

Always wanted a TVR (and still do!)

To think they were churning out cars from that dusty old workshop

  A special one.
The garage I used to do some work for bought some bit's from the TVR factory.

We bought the pull down air line's, a ramp and a few other bit's.
Peter wheeler used to race a Aston Martin DB4 and then an old TVR, his mechanic's used to do all of the work in the factory even though it was shut down.

£20!? Absolute steal!

ooh anything interesting?

It was hard to find anyone interested in it, it couldn't really go in a car, the guy that came for it was going to make it into a gaming chair which is what I used to use it for

There was still a few shells etc behind there in a little caged off area, next time I'm round there (a friend now owns one of the units) I'll go behind and see whats about :)
