Tyre inflators

Looking for a decent 12v (ciggy) connector, tyre inflator.

Had a look at reviews and most point to the Michelin hi power or RAC ones. Anyone had experience with any tyre inflators or recommendations?

I've got a Halfords trade card which is swaying me towards their own rapid inflator.

I've got that same Ring 630 one. Paid £20something from Amazon. It's fine, and the gauge on it reads the same as my digital gauge.

One thing to note is if you're using an extension lead (doing spare wheels on Trackday or whatever) , these inflators use a fair amount of power - the fag lighter extension lead I had wouldn't give it enough grunt so I got another extension lead which works fine.

I got an e bay 1 for £5 but it takes ages

then I found my track bike pump is perfect for the job so I use that now :approve:

Also got the ring one.

You can get it in a kit with a nice case, some tyre foam and other bits for not much more than it on it's own.

Westfield - what do you mean by the extension?
The cable to the 12v fag-lighter socket on Ring inflator will reach to do all four corners on your car fine :).

What I meant was that if you want use the 12v fag-lighter socket on one car (your tow-car), but be doing the tyres on another car (your track car which hasn't got a 12v socket) then you'll find that the cable isn't long enough to reach... so you'll use an extension socket. The inflator doesn't come with one, but you might already have one in the garage for running a coolbox fridge or whatever. However you'll probably find that most extension sockets either have a fuse that's rated too low for the tyre inflator, or wire that's too thin gauge for the power it wants to draw. You'll need to buy a new extension socket that is decent quality. Mine works fine with this http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001QXL7DY/?tag=cliospnet01-21 - works perfectly for plugging into the 12v socket on the towcar and then having the inflator miles away doing the tyres over on the track car or trailer or whatever.

Ah, I get ya. I'll be using it for trackdays, but my clio is still my daily so retains the creature comforts; and the ciggy lighter!
Great idea though - think I'll get one and keep it handy in case I need to inflate a mate's tyre, etc.
