Tyre Repair

Hello all,
Found a nail in my Dunlop Sport SP 01's yesterday, just had it repaired - first time I have had a tyre repair - does it look ok? Looks a bit shabby to me, so thought best to get some input on it!

Whenever I've had the repairs, the patch is usually on the inside... :/

Then they snip the thin end off once it goes through the hole...

Its fine, you have to make a hole to get the bung through.

That looks like a bit of a cheap repair IMO. Normally a puncture repair is done by taking the tyre off of the rim, cleaning up the inside of the tyre, drilling the puncture through and then applying a puncture repair patch through the hole and across the inside of the hole.

Thanks everyone for your input so far. They did take the tyre off the rim and drilled the hole - just looked a bit shabby to me - but I don't know!

I'm just curious what will happen as the tread wears down, as this is sticking out beyond the tread - could it not just get torn out or worn away?

looks fine, just didn't cut the stub off flush, it'll wear level after a bit

Thanks Fred@BTM. Sure I seem a bit paranoid - just as I do a 500 mile weekly commute wanted to be doubly sure
