  Mondeo ST TDci
looks like the head gasket is about to go on my other halfs 1.2 clio. just had a look at the oil and its started to turn milky colour by the filler cap.

Any ideas on how much this will cost to get repaired? by renault or an individual trader?

Don't worry realy head gasgets on them are quite good give the car a good long run get it warm it will most likly be fine just short runs are causing it or a oil breatyher getting blocked

as edde says, all the 1.2's do that - especially in this weather if not given a good run.
not actually seen one without cream round the filler
if you look at the dipstick though, no cream there;) no water in oil

keep an eye on the coolant level too

My 1.2 was the only one ive saw that didnt have mayo on the oil filler cap, even our driving school ones had it and they run for hours on end!

would this also cause the engine coil light/electronic fault light to come on too? the AA guy said it would.

Nope shoulnd't check the fault code or post it up and we can have a look what that might be buut in the present climate I'd bet the coils are going.

it says in the manual its the electronic fault light. But this has only come on since having to jump start the car. She had problems with the alarm and drained the battery, so we had to get the booster cables out and jump it. would it register multiple quick on/offs as a fault?
car seems fine other than the light being on. no loss of power etc.

Will it clear in say 48 hours or does it need a reset?

dont know the fault code. i dont have the equipment to find it either.
POp into a garage who can.
