ukaskew does Englebert

Just managed to squeeze in a visit to Combe on Sunday to see the #66 Elise at my second home. Sadly my lens had several issues and then packed up pretty early on so it has to go off for a - incredibly expensive - service now, hence these are a bit ropey to say the least...

  Turbos.
Thanks a lot Chris, it was a shame we couldn't deliver much in the race itself but it's nice to have some cracking photos as a consolation!

My helmet looks pretty tasty in the first picture... be sure to say hi next time. I didn't realise the pitlane walk was so close to the race. I was in such a rush i had to wear two left-handed gloves!

pmsl at the glove comment, they run a pretty tight ship at Combe, apart from big incidents I can't remember too many occasions when there has been any lengthy gaps in track action on a race day.

Great pics for a dodgy lens!

Tis fooked, couple hundred quid just to get it serviced apparently, hence why these shots look like they're from a compact or something. One of the disadvantages of managing to scrape enough together for a £3k is that I can't afford to keep it going!

Great pics but what happened to the lens?

I think the electrical contacts are mullered, the info it was sending through to the camera was all over the shop. Basically focus was only kicking in every few shots, metering was buggered (not good on a sunny day) and half the time the camera refused to believe a lens was even attached.
