Ultr low miles DCi 80

Possibly travelling the lenght of the vountry to see a 2004 DCi80 on tuesday. its got 19K on it. What should I look out for on such a low miler ? I'm used to searching out wear and tear but there wont be any ! is there soemthing to watch out for on low milers like that ?
Just what I'm after TBH and at those miles should be good for a few years with decent servicing !
Was going to post in the Dci forum but there are only a few active members by the looks of it, hope you dont mind answering a DERV question in a petrol predominant site !

Sounds like it's probably been used to pop to the shops once a week. I would go for a higher mileage one personally. Check it's not completely fucked.

I'm more inclined to go for the lower miles, turbo will have seen no work nor the gearbox/ drivetrain. I went to see a high miles one and it was a dog! smoking like hell and fuel comuter showing 38 mog !! the DCi should see that sat at the redline !

  Nothing at the mo :(

Your example sounds just like a 20k year old car which does 5 miles a week to sainsburys.. 5 miles a week does more damager then 250 miles a week

It clearly does short trips, personally I'd be looking at one with a few more miles maybe but still doesn't mean this one will be no good.

Diesels take much longer to warm up so on short trips they won't return the mpg or get upto optimum running temp which is where your problem could lie if your unlucky. I spend half my time explaining to people they don't need a diesel for the miles they do and the trips, mongholes thinking because its diesel there going to get 60mpg!

Little do they realise there more to buy, more to maintain, and more to go wrong in most cases!

Good luck though and I hope it turns out to be a cracking car. Personally I'd still look out for all the usuals, makesure its getting up to tempreture, turbos not smoking and just general condition. Also makesure its got good history preferbly backed up with receipts. I'm not to clued up with the dci so not really common with there common faults.

There is another with 47 k a year older for 500 less so that sounds a better option? Thinking about it the low miler will never have seen operating temp in all its life, so may be a worry for the head gasket? The other is a 65 HP, but I can map it myself quite easily and the only difference on the 80 is a small intercooler. Out of interest what are you after for the Clio? Whats spec, colour and where are you?

The one on 19k is for sale near me (assuming its the same one - black?)
Low miles isnt everything - should still have had the belts done and serviced properly. Long journeys are good for a dCi, can just get as much problems with a super low miles that has been used for the school run. I came across a dCi 100 on 214,000 miles and was still going like a train

It is!! How near is it? Any chance if passing you could give it a glance over ( don't say anything) would be much appreciated.
