undersized injectors

Since my remap I have noticed a lack of smoothness as the revs go through 5000-5500.

Its hard to explain the feeling but it doesnt feel like it revs cleanly through this rev range. It appears to be worse in lower gears.

Looking at the fuel map this is where the largest pulse width is used and where peak torque comes in. Are the limits of the injectors being reached?

Is it possible to look at the pulse width values in the OMEX map to work out whether this is the problem?

The car has cams and a standalone ECU.

have a look at the injectors and tell me whats written on them

standard have IWP 042 written on the side

Mark's is using the same injectors that are on mine... so they will be running about 60% duty at full load... so no, they are not even close to being maxed out.

Does the guy that mapped it do a lot of Clio's? May just need tweaking

My injectors are standard.

Fred I will have a look but they werent upgraded.

aah, keep thinking your on enlarged ITB. In that case dunno, I'd have thought they will be running not too far off full duty... was Romers ITB'd 172 on stock or uprated injectors, as I know his wasn't running cams?

Do the maps tell you how close to the limit they are running?

only way to tell really would be to run it up and check on the software how close they are to max duty cycle.

or find out the flow, divide it by 5, then divide by 4, to get a rough idea of what the power capabilities are.
