understeeeeer

Gradully getting to know new car and a great time Im having !

Does anyone else find that there is a fair bit of understter in the 182? Initial turn in seems excellent in tight-ish corners but then it seems to turn to understeer, it just doesnt seem to turn in as much as the first turn of the wheel would have you believe (hmm just re-read that and apologies if it makes no sense!) Once ive corrected and turned the wheel more its fine, its just a little dis-concerting to have the steering change so much whilst taking corners at speed.

Anybody else noticed this or is it just me being a sh*t driver?!

  Hippys bus of LOVE !!!

I heard the back end is really skittish on the 182, not driven myself, so I cant really comment...

BUT 172s Ive driven with upgraded suspension always handled far better than with the standard suspention...

Its front wheel drive....

It is indeed....

My point is that on first turn in it seems very keen to turn, giving the impression of not having to give a lot of sterring input, there seems to be a point where it decides to change from very sharp to cant-be-arsed turn in, this is ok on roads you know as you will know how much input to give the car, on roads you dont know quite so well it could be kinda scary.

But as ive said before, im enjoying getting to know the car and learning how to get the best from it.

same as the 172 when you REALLY sail close to the wind on the country road. the fronts really anchor the car and the rear end gets a little light. But it only happens when you really really throw it in with abandon (That in hind sight i would recommend for a trackday).

As said above... its a front wheel drive. Try picking a better line into the bend so you dont need to turn in to sharp and too fast...... When my 172 understeers, it only takes minor throttle/wheel adjustment to get it to bite again.....
