unusual question on engines...

Hi all,

probably not a question often asked on here

but does anyone know if a mk1 engine and box would fit in a mk2 clio?

cars in question...

doner... mk1 1.4 clio auto (K reg)
poorly car... mk2 1.6 8v auto (v reg)

reason? need to sort the mrs mk2 and am skint!

ok guys had a think about this and doesnt seem possible, different speedo connections, (wire and cable) and various other bits n bobs i doubt would work even if it did fit!

so a different question.. I am looking to buy a salvage/smashed motor that i can see the engine n box running in then transplant it over. other than the ph1 and 2 clio, aare there any other renaults the engine/box would fit in? not bothered about engine size either.
