Does the car turn over, does it start? could possibly be either your spark plugs , possibly a little bit of water has got in the spark plugs? could be wrong, im just thinking,

Dodgy coil itself.... are you a member of the RAC, is so, push the car 1 mile away from your home, and they will come down and do a diag check on the car to find the fault

It starts with the fresh battery in, but i dont understand why the handbrake and ABS lights are all still illuminated?

if it work and its all fine now, then it could well just need a reset, to like take those lights off, i had a similar problem when i had my Saxo VTS, it turned out to be the battery, but my service light was still on, and the RAC guy was happily enoigh to bring it back to default, and turn the Service light off...

Or could well be a dodgy wire? also funny enough happend to me in my vts, after a messed around with the wiring, i found it was a bit loose, and unclipping it and clipping it back in it was ok.. but i dont recommend doing that, becuase i hardly dout that is the problem ...

I think it could well just need a System check just to double check the car is ok, and the person who checks it will take that light off for you... ?

Cool thanks for your help!
I'm going to take the car to a specialist tomorrow and find out...

Btw welcome to the forum, see your a relitivly new use in terms of posts!

thanks mate, i appreciate it, all seems fine, and like you say it would be ideal to check it out on diagnostics, just to be sure, and that will get rid of the service light etc..

Cheers
