Urgent! help

Hope someone could help me....

I have a cliosport 172 cup and i have had a problem with my back breaks.

basically i put it through an MOT and it came back that the rear breaks were doing NOTHING, i thought i had a minor problem as the handbreak wasnt holding enough and therefore had to leave it in gear.

I have had some checks done the break cables cleaned and not seized, breaks cleaned of any grit etc.....and callipers checked and my mechanic said they are ok but i still am having the same problem.

will this make my front breaks wear quicker?

as you can tell im no mechanic ;)but would like to hear if anyone has come across this problem before and how they overcame it

many thanks

There meant to be like that IIRC. There is a document issued by VOSA that you can print out and take along to the MOT station.

Did it fail the MOT or did they give you an advisory?

Common problem with cups this. Something to do with the rear brake bias.

Mine went down on it first time I tested it. Vosa know about it and have a bit on their website about it.

I printed that off and take it everytime I test mine now.

Not sure of the link although I'm sure someone else will know. Try searching it.

oh really ok

yeah they failed me on them, but as my front breaks were good they passed on the overall breaking system

are they meant to be like that?

how comes my handbreak is not holding good? i have had it tightened aswell but hasnt seemed to have much effect:S:S

ah just saw the article

the bit they are talking about (weight compensator) i did purchase because i thought it was missing....is it ok to keep on?
