Yep, they are, total muppets! If your talkign about Evans Halshit.

Lol. There are 3 vee's in abd that i know of...

Liking the 200?

Oh yes - there's some great roads between Banchory and Aberdeen that seem to suit the 200's chassis - Even in the wet it's suprisingly "sticky" :D.

Not quite so much fun in the snow - but hopefully we've had the last of the white $hite for a while :)

That's the fookers I went into to see before getting mine from Aylesbury - The ar$e in the showroom wasn't interested in taking me on when I was enquiring about the 200 - Said something along the lines of we've not had any in and we wont get any until we've got shot of the 200 GT over there.

Think I'll be servicing the car at the car clinic rather than them !

A guy in my town has one... exactly as the one you posted.
That sound of the V6! Ooh la, la... la!

I was talking about Borat! ;)
Who's Evans Hals*#t? :S

Yeah dont put "Back to Black" cans in your boot in a vee. When I was on a meet I had one explode. Did a fair ammount of damage too. It ended up traveling from the drivers side to the passenger side and smashing my fuse box to bits......oh and it traveled in and out of my carpet 4 times on its path!!! The engine died instantly and I initially thought i'd thrown a conrod out the side of the block but then discovered the can. To be honest if I wouldn't have had the windows open, it would have blown the back ones out.

Lol. Typical response. 'its great. If you don't agree, you don't understand/can't afford/are in no position to comment'.

I can understand what you are saying mate but to be fair, and I'm not aiming this at you, I have read some of the most stupid comments about them its untrue and pretty much all of them are from people who have never drove or owned one. The funniest being when people compare them to regular fwd clio's and say they are slow........it actually makes my laugh.

It's not supposed to be that quick though? It's an 'experience', not a race car.

yes it is...reno's flagship clio, the best of them all alledgedly... bettered by pretty much every lower spec clio in all areas. they look like theyv been ramraided thru halfords for a start.

Its like comparing a Turbo 2 with an R5gtt......I know what I'd prefere

V6 v 1*2 0-60........vee wins

V6 v 1*2 top end.........vee wins

V6 v 1*2 handling..........equal......both are equaly rewarding to drive

V6 V 1*2 looks............both look great but the V6 looks less of a shopping cart...V6 wins

V6 v 1*2 practicaly...........On a friday night, I can keep my takeaway hot in the boot...V6 wins

V6 v 1*2 best noise..............your a c**k if you think a 1*2 sounds better.......V6 wins

any more question 2 Live????? Your obviously one of those that haven't as much as sat in one

yes it is...

it's quicker than a 1*2. It's not aimed at setting world records or 10sec quarters. In every real-world scenario the Vee tears all FWD Clios a new one, because it has oodles of this magic torque stuff. Put your foot down, any gear, any revs and you get action. The 182 in comparison just makes a bit more noise.

As for looks, I can't particularly take your opinion away from you but just LOL to be frank. Jealous schoolboy sort of comment.

This is funny. On handling, you say that they are both equally rewarding because you know that 1*2's can out handle them in certain scenarios. If you are going on what is more 'rewarding' then both are rewarding on 0-60, top end, anything. It depends what you want and what you get from a car.

In terms of looks, there is no contest. People will either like or laugh at a V6. The majority will laugh. V6 loses.

It is what it is but they ain't all that, imo. I've never owned one or even sat in one and that is because I wouldn't touch one with yours.

Here's the difference...if you want to noticed, you buy a V6. I don't like them and have no problem with the people who do. It's a car...just not a very good one! :rasp:

eh? what are you basing that on?!!!

Never heard/seen/experienced anyone laughing at one in 2 years of ownership.

re handling, i personally think the 1*2's handle better, but thats prob cos they are easier to drive.

Aye, I have to say having driven both I think the 182 would be quicker on a track purely because you can understeer to your heart's content to work out you're at the limit. In the Vee you get an inch of understeer and a mile of oversteer when you get past that limit.

Seriously, its funny how people rate the V6.

The reason I stated the V6 is as rewarding to drive than the regular clio is because some of us like to push our driving abilities........you couldn't get a 2 year old to push their abilities in a 1*2. All credit to 1*2 I might just add, they are with out doubt a wonderful handling car. I grew out of understeer when I was 17 though and always aspired for something abit more exciting.

As for people laughing at them........sorry but you chat sh1t fella.....END OF. lol If I wanted to be noticed mate, I could have bought various TVR's, Lotus', BMW's, Astons etc. The fact that there is more than a few owners of these car with garages including Lambo's, ferraris and even Paganis is a credit that the car isn't that bad at all.

I think the whole clio RS range is brilliant. So much so that Im considering getting a Ph1 172 to use everyday. All of them have their good points and all of them have their brilliant point. None of them are bad cars in my opinion.

LOL what nonsense. You couldn't get a 2 year old to push their abilities in a 182? Yet more V6 'I'm a hero' snobbery. TBH if you can't get a 182 around a track without understeering everywhere, then you can't drive.

I'm sure the V6 is trickier and more rewarding though. Maybe.

I had a Vee, and hope you don't think I am a V6 Snob!!!!

Hello :D

After playing in Evos for years i've come round to the idea of getting a V6 again  I bought a V6 private plate 7 years ago with the intention of getting one but decided otherwise. Having done as much as I wanted to in the Evo I fancy a change.

I've had a quick search but wanted some more recent opinions.

Are the Mk1's as 'snappy' as people say compared to the MK2?
Engine differences, what makes the 30 hp difference?

I've wasted too much on cars in the past years so i'm wondering if a MK1 will do me?

Can they both just be driven hard inc trackdays with regular servicing, etc? any common problems?

Cheers, Gav

Erm, are we talking to THE Knoxville here??

http://www.lancerregister.com/sprint_leaderboard.php

Oh, lordy. Is it wrong to feel but a mere minion in the shadow of your awesomeness?

Interesting switch from an Evo to a V6 - you must be one of the first? I've only driven a Mk2, but I agree with the comments about a Mk1 looking nicer (from some angles). I think it looks the purer, more 'to-the-point' car out of the two.

Are you having a laugh?? I'm no snob lmao. 1*2 are fwd, no matter how good a driver you are, you get to a point/speed where the car will understeer. In my opinion, it only takes 2 brain cells to correct understeer. True or not??? Any rwd car takes more judgement to drive quickly whether its a V6, M3, 200SX or even a 318....get over it lol. And if you think I'm slagging the car off for saying that then get a grip! I clearly said they are great cars on track and that I even want a 172 as a play thing so I by no means think they are boring. Just not as exciting as a V6. Read the post fully mate. ;)

Hello Friend,

I was the proud owner of a Mk2 V6 for over a year and I have to say the overall experience was fantastic. I personally wouldn't buy a mk1 because they represent a 'poor mans' mk2 and even a mk2 has a 'poor mans' supercar. So in other words, a mk1 is a poor mans, poor mans supercar?

If anyone says any different then they are wrong & should be shot because they are a strain on our perfect society.

Cheers

Adam

P.S I had to wait 100+ secs to read the new forum rules. Thank you Cliospot for wasting 100 secs of my life.

I did read it fully. I was taking issue with the implication that all a 182 does is understeer. It's quite neutral and can be adjusted easily on the throttle, and will oversteer if not driven smoothly. Of course it understeers if your entry speed is too high. I imagine a V6 will also, before snapping into oversteer. This makes the V6 more challenging of course. I agree. I just fancied an argument at the time TBH.

Fair enough mate.;)

Mk1=Poor mans Mk2??? Its is at the minute I won't argue that but the Mk1 Escort was once a a poor mans Mk2 Escort and look at the prices of those now. Same goes for the Mk1 Mini, Mk1 Golf Gti, VW Camper bus and many other car. Just something I keep in mind as my Vee is for keeps.

Lol. Its not too hard to do on a greasy bit of road though. I once nearly took my mates R32 out when the rear decided to change lanes leaving some trafic lights.....good fun though and must have looked funny as hell from behind.

The V6 is faster than any other Renaultsport made
The V6 is rarer than any other Renaultsport made
The V6 is not the best handling Renault sport made, but it is better than the 172/182.
The V6 is alot more fun than the any other Renaultsport. (Not driven R26R)
The V6 is the only Renaultsport that will be remembered for being "Mad"
The V6 sounds better than any other Renault sport

Look, you either like the styling or you don't... Thats up to you. I like them.
