valver fuel pump connections

  ph1 172
When i got my valver there was an intermittent fuel pump problem. Turned out to be the connctions under the rear seats, they looked burnt and corroded and the wires were getting hot. I cut them off and replaced them and it fixed it. I put the heat down to the bad connections because i have seen this before.

The other day when i fitted my immoboliser i noticed that some of the fuel pump connectors unde the dash had also got quite warm.

Is/was the pump drawing too much current?
How comes the fuse hasnt blown?
Is my fuel pump about to die?

Ive decided that when i get back home in a couple of weeks im going to change the fuel pump becasue i need the car to be reliable.

Am i right in thinking that i need to drop the tank out to get to the fuel pump?
