Valver Gearbox



  350z & 16v Maxi


I have being having problems with my gearbox as some may know. I was advised to try the thrust washer and circlip thing but they were fine.

It seems like the gear box is not driving the drivers side drive shaft and as such that side has the lest resistance so the diff is driving that side only not the drive shaft. The speedo goes up during this.

Anyone know what would cause this?

so youve checked the circlip and that the diff centre is in place ok?

is the o/s shaft secure on the gearbox? eg-drive splines not stripped etc?

if everything externally is ok then the fault will be within the diff assembly

i think the splines are ok, not 100% sure yet, going to take the shaft off and have a look. The pin that goes through the shaft and the splined bit of the diff is not there, but that shouldnt cause a problem.

If it is something internal in the diff what is the easiest way to sort it?
