Really ............
Ive never had any trouble with valvers , i had a blast with my mates one on the a21 last night i pulled 4/5 car lengths up to silly speed ,
yours must be quick or the other person couldnt drive or was not trying ?

Williams are, in my experiences, quicker, just. Depends on the individual car and driver though.

A standard valver should be comfortably beaten though.

When I had my old valver (standard) it couldn't keep up with a 172, when rolling a 172 used to pull about 3 car lenghts on it.

One time I remember though off of a set of lights on a private bit of road, a chavved up 172 pulled up (usual story lexus lights & 17's) he was going to give it some & so was I - I stayed level with it, all the way to to the end of second gear where I backed off.

a 182 'should' beat a std valver quite easy! yes a williams/hybrid might be a different story!

im lucky to own a 182 and valver and got a williams 3 locked away(or is that unlucky having clios lol) and the valver will match the 182 i think but then its not std at all lol, the 182 is std

Nope. Never had any trouble with Valvers. Slower than Saxo VTS's. Only had one do with a Williams and that was even stevens up to silly mph.

Valvers were insurance group 12 for a reason, 137 bhp and a tonne of metal is deffo Saxo VTS territory. Nearly a second slower to 60 than a 172.

The Williams had 150 brake and slightly lighter making it a much better weapon.

That said, there never is that much difference between hot hatches these days.

There is a difference - I just think that peoples expectations are wrong. You need a great deal extra power to seriously 'own' another car.

A well driven Valver is pretty much on par with and often quicker than a 172/182 through tighter corners but gives that all back when in a straight line.

Around Brands Indy the main straight is the only place I can make any ground on one. After that it's all I can do to keep in touch.

Standard valvers aren't as quick as 172's..... not a silly amount in it.... but a considerable amount.

On a track the driver can be as big a factor as the car.

I recogn the Stig in a valver could out run any of us in any other chosen renaultsport

I've no doubt on track it's a whole different story. The mk 1's are just so light. And you can tell why when you sit in one to be fair. They feel like they're made from cardboard and held together with spit. lol.

lol not sure about that - my 16v felt pretty well screwed together and quite solid if I'm honest! and I've been in a few 172's/182's
