Valvers Alternator

I have heard a nasty Rumor that if a valver needs an alternator then its an engine out job. Is this true or were they just trying to sway me to getting a slow german tank because they are jealous of my lurvely valver?

"shorty cries a huuuuge sigh of relief"

Thanks very much for the reassurance its very much appreciated, mine has jsut started whistling on cold mornings when it is first started sounds like the bearings could be shafted

And the bonnet, and the front of the car, unless youre a gynacologist. My advice (having changed one myself) - save up and pay someone else to do it.

Its a b**ch.

Its easy, Ive changed 2 now....it should take you about 2 hours to do the lot. The only difficult bit is losening the tensioning nut as its on the pulley towards the back, plus the leverage isnt great. Defo remove the bonnet, rad grille and drivers headlight. And buy a Haynes manual.

yeah not that hard to do, did mine to, took bonnet and headlight off for better access, took about 40mins
