VCI Firmware, and where is Henk?

Hi,

Does anyone know if Henk has gone on holiday?? I sent him an email over a week ago with my data logs and I haven`t heard a thing!
Also I have a problem with my VCI as it says its firmware 109... lol, and I bought a .cal lastnight and none of them seem to work on my firmware version anymore!! Its a bit annoying as I really want to try the overrun cal on my decat setup.
When I try to update the firmware in the RS Tuner software it says the VCI is locked.(First time I`ve connected it to my laptop! and tried to update firmware). I really don`t understand whats going on.....I`ve got a really bad feeling I`ve got to purchase another VCI just so I can upload a new.cal file, but I really hope this isn`t the case...
Considering the new VCi is 159 euros and a custom cal file is 100 euros, I might aswell get my car setup on a rolling road....
Anyone any ideas?

I didn't think the overrun map worked on the older firmwares........

I take it this is an older RSTuner? Blue transparent thing.....

Im confused. Did you buy it new from henk or second hand? If second hand its quite possible it is firmware 109, this cannot be updated and so you cannot use the overrun map.

If its new from fastchip and its saying its version 109 then you have a problem.

No its one of the original ones I bought from new, little black box!! I think I`m going to have to buy the new model as Henk says none of the new maps will work on it. I`m hoping Henk might consider giving me a small discount if I were to post back this version to him.

It's a shame the firmware cannot be updated, as I like my little VCI box. I`m guessing there is such a big difference in the hardware between the old VCI and the new one that the firmware is completely incompatible.

I usually dont look at datalogs if I didnt ask for them / custom cal related.

Yes completely different. 8bit mcu vs 32 bit mcu.
