I was wondering the exact same thing (asked here too), spoke to someone at a car audio shop and they informed me that it would work as a normal cd changer, however the standard 182 HU wouldn't be able to navigate/change folders on mp3 cds so would make it pretty pointless.
Annoying, can't seem to find any decent mp3 solution for the standard HU.
