Vein's BMW

That Stereo needs throwing in the bin. Ruins the interior. Too many stickers for me too.

Apart from that, I love it. I love E30's full stop.

Ta. As said, HU is temporary, looking for a cheapo Becker aswell atm.

Please do the kidney grills black like that one matt|H posted. It looks far cooler.

They were black Gaz but with the car being Vulcan grey with black bumpers and black grilles the kidneys in black took it away from the car slightly.

I think you should sell the car and set your self on fire for fitting that stereo. Just a tragic waste :dapprove:

You have some diesel at the ready? :rasp:

Went to Sextons today local to me and saw one of these:

And I knew straight away it was exactly what I was after for the BMW as it ticked a few boxes; namely:
Amber illumination
iPod USB control
Slight OEM look
New
Kept the CD slot

Did a quick mock up in PS to see how well it worked/didn't work:

I know the make won't be to most people's tastes but as long as it does a decent job of pumping the music out i shan't be too bothered :D

They are also going to sort my wiring out for me as it's a true bodgery with 10+ spade connectors I'm not going to attempt touching that.

1st March is approaching ever so slowly!
Will be getting the rust and valance sorted out on the 6th March hopefully.

  Whichever has fuel
For a decent proper clean, get the seats out.

The runners on BMW get so much crap on them, they need to come out of the car completely so they can be pressure washed off. (Then re-oiled obv!)

Well, finally started driving this on Monday!

First drive was horrible as it had been standing since the first photos so needed a good run-in.

Got a new valance from a guy off the E30 forum Im on, the other day so that is waiting in the garage until I have the time to sand, stonechip and spray it.

Had a look while at Morrisons underneath the car today and tbh it's pretty sound thankfully, although the rust on the rear is slightly worrying! (Anybody that can cure this I'd be extremely interested)

Also removed the heck spoiler today to find some small rust on the bootlid and around the screw holes which could do with some attention! Although the bloody spoiler fell down the bootlid and put a nice big scratch on it

Next update:

Found out the wheels were buckled so purchased some second hand ones from an E30Zone trader and got them fitted the same day!! So I'm extremely happy now :D

And just purchased some of these:

They need an extra bracket welded on the bottom to fit but should be alot sturdier than the raggedy things I have at the moment.

Recently purchased a Tech 1 Spoiler from eBay for a bargain and will get that sprayed/fitted when it arrives by the weekend!
Will look like this but in grey :rasp:

Also getting my adaptor plates ordered this week so the seats will be fitted by Performance Action Day hopefully :D

Rightt another update!!

Things purchased:

Brand new leather gear knob : £20
Leather handbrake cover: £5 :D
Tech 1 Spoiler*: £62
2xAerosols of Vulcan Grey paint: £25.99

Gave it a bloody good wash and polish today (Im no detailer so don't expect anything amazing) after all the fallout that's been giving cars a nice brown appearance.

Was hoping to have my plates for my seats here too but they've not turned up :(

*This needed a bit of attention but I'm not very good with filler etc and I wanted it fitted by the weekend so a bit of sanding and some superglue and everythings looking OK.
