Venturing in here because......

I need some advice.

I dont have a head unit and need one. Im not into big flashy displays, not one million buttons that adj the resonant thermo frequency of the left micro tweeter. Just enough, single CD and great radio reception is all i need.

Just nice, simple and nothing crazy price wise.....

Also, if anybody has a s/h one which is decent and they wanna get rid of ill have a look. Or any deals that companies are giving of old stock.........

Ta peeps.

have a look on car audio direct they are the best for service and price i find they always have 99 quid deals on i bought one for my auntie and its perfect , not over the top just simple.

alpines look super 80s with the million buttons i dont like......

Its usually stuck on the radio anyway.

Blaupunkt seem to have minimal buttons as do Sony.......pioneer, kenwood, alpine all soom over loaded with too much stuff, can you program them to drive or somethiing!?

LOL........then i would have to mess about converting to MP3 and bringing them all across....lol.....sorry, im lazy and radio is like an auto shuffle...neve know whats commin on! lol

Have a look at the Blaupunkt range there are some simple ones there. I have the same problem as you, there seem to no good looking headunits without all that flashy stuff!!!!

Sorry this is all that I could come up with, but woth a look.

Cool peeps, thatnks for the help.........

Still lookin.............man..........just need a stereo, but all the really cheap stuff is naff.

Opinions on SOny?

I know most of you will think its gash, but they have nice simple displays with BIG buttons for retards.

i dont agree, i think sony are a pain in the ass to use.

i personally love pioneer and find them very easy to use. Alpine are also very good!

I also have an mp3 pioneer player the 7400mp..love it...anyway the below stereo will do you fine mate:)

just seems so plasticy and tacky.

I had a sony before and it was pretty simple....on/off.....source, nxt track, station etc etc....lol.....

I agree sony are generally simple, extremly easy to use and dont look too flashy untill now. Unfortunalty the 2003 sony range just looks a bit ugly. Have a look around for a CDX8000, its a couple of years old now. It was my favorite but didnt have the cash to but it new ,I wish I had now :(

The MP40 Sony Ive got looks better in my car than in the pics - the Blue center is very blue and matches my Williams dials perfectly. To be honest apart from some of the very expensive stereos they all look like 1980s tape decks - Pioneer especailly although the more expensive one look great. The Alpine ones have grown on me but were too expensive. If I had the money I would have got the Alpine 7894RB. I guess its personal taste but I couldnt find a HU under £200 that didnt look rubbish - my only requirements were MP3 and not too underpowered.

jvc and panosonic seem to be easy to use not very often thought of as high end audio but jvc had a deal on not long ago where u could buy a headunit and they gave u digital radio for free, if u use radio alot that would give u better choise and nicer sound.

alpine are good and once setup u wont need to fiddle with em again.
