Verdicts in on my ph1 172

  Chocolate Bar™
having had a bit of an incident couple of weeks ago, and most people held the opinion that it was a cat D, but the insurance company have now agreed to fix it completely.

was a bit of a disagreement as they claim the passenger side window regulator has broke, but not in the crash (which it must have done) so they have now agreed to fix this as well.

got no idea how long it'll take to get it back. they've said 2 weeks to repair, but they still have work to do before they start mine.

but now that ive got a corsa sxi 1.2 im not really bothered how long it takes as long as they do a proper job.

thought this would be easier than answering the five PM's i usually get daily lol

Not registered as its not a write off, so even more of a bonus. Also been classed as non fault so wont put insurance up THAT much

  Lots of Alfas
Thats good news Middo, things could be a lot worse off. Good to see you'll get her back and good to see a yellow 172 being saved.

Things are looking good for Admiral, Ive just had a £60 refund as they said they charged me too much!

Great to hear mate, have to admit I'm quite surprised they've decided to repair.

Make sure you get a decent body shop doing it and the Sunflower looks flawless. :)

Trust me i'm a perfectionist, if anything is up with it i'll be sticking it back on the low loader and telling the driver to tow it back to the bodyshop 40 miles away ;)

  Chocolate Bar™
^ nah i havent, purely because i NEED a coutsesy car because i work nights so cant catch a bus etc. Saying that, last time i chose my bodyshop to do insurance repairs they did a shite job anyway, dont think theres any good bodysops in stoke lol

  Chocolate Bar™
tell me about it. I'm considering travelling to has's bodyshop in coventry next time i need any work done lol

  106 GTi
You know it Mark ;)

We did a Yamaha R1 at the weekend and it is looking good. Though I am not allowed to do anything apart from prep and polish ( the hard and important bits lol), despite wanting to play with the gun!

  Chocolate Bar™
get some pics up when done! If my car was gonna be written off i was gonna buy a compressor and spray it myself.... prob a good job its getting repaired lol

  106 GTi
I will do, was to busy on Sat when flatting and polishing to take any. You would have been fine, all about taking your time and prep as you know. I am going to paint my Phase 1 172 myself when I find a suitable example.

  Chocolate Bar™
oooooo didnt know you were getting a ph-quik rich. I assume its gonna be a track beast?

  106 GTi
On the look out for one, needs to be cheap and tatty as it will be getting a facelift and a colour change.

glad the car is going to be back on the road - how did u prove the accident was non fault? I thought no witnesses and the cctv was crap?

  Chocolate Bar™
I think the CCTV showed no fault, but wasn't good enough to identify the taxi driver.
Ah... I see.

thats the one. The CCTV could tell that he pulled out on me, leaving me know way of getting out of the situation without ging straight into the post, but he had shite italic numberplates so they couldnt pick it up :(

thanks for the comments anyway, got my courtesy car now and expecting her back in january :D. However i was a bit pissed off as the garage rung me up yesterday to tell me a driver had scratched the door so they've gotta blow that in as well now :(

  Audi TT 3.2 V6
