on an 02 plate anything in particular to look for/check when buying one, it was imported by trade sales in slough so no dodgy imports. New tyres on front are needed otherthan that i was told it was mint, are there any common probs on these cars to look out for? dont wanna end up buying a sh*tter

Test drive with stereo off.

Rev it to 4k at idle to listen for the rattle.

Check the spare wheel is there(alloy)

Make sure you have a 6-disc under the passenger seat

Check the source of import.Just because they have a good rep doesnt mean they havent got the car from somewhere else(other than EU).

Make sure all the tags match for engine Nos etc,etc and do a hpi check.Also check there is no outstanding finance on the car.If you buy it and the other person hasnt paid up,YOU LOOSE THE CAR.

Just to add to what Ian said, if you like car and intend to buy, either take a mate who is a trained mechanic to check it out or failing that, get an AA inspection, I know this costs but could save you a few £££s in long run. Good luck mate.
