Vista Drivers on XP?

Had a new laptop and i cant get on with windows vista!

Anyone know if the drivers will work with xp as im just gonna format the fucker and put xp pro on.

You will probably have to find the XP drivers from each manufacturer.

I did the same with my new laptop!
Vista sucked....

XP Pro back on with Ubuntu, much better

why cant you get on with vista?

most problems with vista are user error or simply not knowing what they are doing.

first hurdle and people break down in tears flap their arms around and grab the inferior xp installation disc.

no no, nothing like that, its just really different to xp, trying to install programs like nero and there just erroring (oviously meant for xp and not vista). Also its a sony and its got all the sony branded bullshit on there that i wouldnt mind getting rid of for oem xp pro....

You can customise Vista to look more "XP friendly"......

Nero works perfectly with Vista (that is if you're installing the latest version and not off a cd you've had lying about for years).

yup, i suppose youve got uac enabled too (which is shite)

click start/all programs/accessories/run

type in "msconfig"

click the tools tab and click disable UAC, launch

you'll have all the pop ups stopped then asking you to confirm crap.

nero works fine on my pc when i installed it a few weeks ago, what version are you trying to use? ill pm you the link to the one i downloaded

^^^^ - the numero uno reason why I will never buy another Sony Vaio for work. Probably the worst in the industry imo, for bogging down laptops with totally irrelevant and trivial crap.

UAC is really the only reason people hate vista as soon as they use it, mainly cos they don't realise it can be turned off. otherwise vista is so similar in looks to XP that how can anyone really hate it that much? once you are used to where to find everything then there isn't anything to hate.

i know i used to be a hater before i sat down properly and tried it for a while.
