A miserable start to the day weather wise… It was that fine rain that gets you soaked through without realising it.. “Everybody in, everybody in its spitting!!”

Starting with the engine bay I allowed Megs APC to soak for a little while before light agitation with a few brushes.. Rinsed with low pressure through the Kranzle. Engine allowed to run for a few more minutes to help drying.

Next? Wheels and door shuts. A mix of AS G101 and Tardis used throughout.

Vehicle snowfoamed and then washed with the two bucket approach..

I didn’t think there’d be a massive need for claying today as the bodywork felt very slick as it was.. I was proved wrong however.

Light surface contaminants removed and the water sheeted over the panels to aid the drying stages.

Once clean and dry:

Once inside and after a lap round with the Black Baron Vehicle Dryer blowing water out of the crevices etc, I turned to the engine bay. AutoGlym Vinyl and Rubber Care used to dress.

Lime Prime was then loaded onto a Megs yellow polishing pad and worked with the Chicago rotary.

Paint coming up nicely indeed:

In terms of defects, there wasn’t a whole lot going on. One or two hazy wash ‘marred’ sections were brought out but other than that, it was quite tough to determine how much correction was going on.

A couple of before and after shots from the tailgate.

Stepped up to a light cutting pad and Menz 203s for the rear clusters:

Much improved but not perfect..

Once all the machine work was complete Dodo Supernatural wax was applied.

10/15 minutes later a ‘finger-swipe’ test was given to check if it was ready to come off or not..

(The clean cut line means its cured and it good to buff off)

Meanwhile, the alloys were sealed with Wheel Guard. Tyres dressed with Meguiars Endurance Tyre Gel. Exhausts polished with Belgom Alu and Autosol used for the inner barrels..

DSC07233wd.webp

Autosol has seen better days.. (What, it’s a shame to waste it!?)

Spot the repair on the N/S rear quarter:

…the little light patch near the centre of the photograph? A previous smart repair that was showing through.

Moving on to the interior with VAX6131 hoover, G101 and glass cleaner..

brilliant, what a great looking car!

Jim - re the engine, are you cleaning the engine whilst cold, or does this not matter too much? I'm thinking about the APC drying off before you rinse if the engine is hot or warm?

Tried to pm you back dude but your inbox is full!

Sorry JP,

I had the mail come through saying mailbox full!

There should be some space in there now; try again if you could.

Scottthurlow, best bet is to PM me my friend.. Your requirements, car specs, location, contact details etc....
