W reg clio speedo dies as bootlock clicks!

About a month ago i was driving along one day and my speedo suddely went to 0, at the same time it made the clunking noise that it makes when the doors automatically lock. Since then it is generally working when i first get in the car but will then randomly cut out and always makes the locking noise at the same time. Had diagnostics done at renault but no faults were found. Any idea's anyone?

try the connector at the back. may just be faulty. i know in corsa's you just push the glass at the front and it comes on again.

I'm a girl, dont know that much about cars wheres the connector? To me it sounds like a solenoid slamming at the back of the car when the speedo cuts off then the same noise if it does go back on again.
