Washer Blanks with Xenons?

Hi guys

Just noticed of recent that one of my washers on my 182 with xenons has started leaking washer fluid.

I could replace it, but wouldn't mind fitting a set of colour coded washer blanks instead to tidy up the front end, prefer the cleaner look.

However, my one worry is what would happen come MOT time having no washers fitted with xenons? Are they definitely required for MOT? If it would cause hassle then I might just replace the washer as it would be easier.

If they're fitted, they must work. No MOT requirement for them to be fitted though.

So the fact they wouldn't be there, meaning they couldn't be tested in an MOT, would be fine? Just wasn't sure if washers were required to actually be fitted with xenons, but if not the case then I'll get some blanks.

Been thinking about doing this. Neither of mine work and it's passed both its mots since I've had it, but as you say they look a bit untidy.

Yep. I got a price the other day from Renault, I was sitting down so it was ok. Would still like to bin mine though

The blanks have came down in price.

This time last year they where £94.01

They are now down to -
Non painted £52.88
Painted £52.88

I was under the impression washers were a requirement with xenons so had a quick Google and found this article which may help some, although it is 3 years old

Took mine off 3 years ago! Never been a issue. They do look pony. Had mine filled in

This. Mine failed it's MOT on washers not working (of all things!) so asked the bloke if they had to be there and he said the same so I took it home, pulled them out and sent it in with two holes in the front bumper. Passed but got an advisory note saying "Headlight washers removed".

As said it'll pass with blanks and xenons. Mine did with no advisories.
