water pump

  172 cup
Hi folks, I'm new to this, only found out about the site a couple of weeks ago. Just wondering, has anyone out there ever changed a water pump on a 172? Mine's making a angry sort of noise, it looks easy enough to swap, anyone had any bad experiences?:(

Not to bad to do,

Drain the cooling circuit via the lower radiator hose. Remove:
- the front right mud shield,
- the front bumper,
- the upper crossmember,
- the accessories belt
Use a jack etc to hold the engine and the and lower the engine as much as possible,
- the coolant pump pulley
- the coolant pump mounting bolt

REFITTING
Refit:
- the coolant pump (fitted with a new seal) tigh-tening the bolts to a torque of 1.7 daN.m,
- the accessories belt and tension it
Fill and bleed the cooling circuit
Refit the engine mount

PM me your email address and I'll send you a file on this.

Note

It is very important that the mating surfaces are not scratched.
Use the Décapjoint product to dissolve the part of the seal which remains attached.
Apply the product to the section to be cleaned, wait approximately ten minutes, then remove it using a wooden spatula.
It is advisable to wear gloves during the opera-tion.
Do not allow any of the product to fall onto the paintwork.

The water pump on my cup is driven off the aux belt. It looks easy enough to change, just a bit concerned about that gasket removal substance. can I get it from Renault? Thanks again for your help Edde.

cambelt.......lol.

Even your F7's run off the aux and they are the same waterpump essentially.
