Ive been having some electrical problems over the last week or so:
When I have normal dipped beam lights on the dash should show a green dipped beem light. I get this aswell as the blue full beam light.
To start with the blue full beam lamp on the dash flickered but its on all the time now.
When I flick the stalk and put full beam on the green dipped beam lamp goes off and the blue full beam lamp gets a little brighter.
The odd time say 3 times on a 40 mile drive the engine cuts out.
It only does it when the engine is idling say at traffic lights or at a junction. The revs drop to 600 then drop a little more, sometimes the engine cuts out straight away and the coil fault lamp comes on on the dash, other times the cars computers try to prevent the engine stalling and it revs its self slightly but if left almost always results in an engine stall.
The engine starts fine by turning the key.
The engine temperature gauge often dips from its normal position and then returns to normal. This is happening during normal driving so I know that the engine temperature isnt actually dropping.
I have no idea if these three faults are connected they seemed to happen at the same time apart from the temperature gauge fault which I first noticed around 12 months ago but it seemed to go away.
Anyway, has anyone got any ideas on what could be wrong.
