Weird phone call from "Renault"

Just had an 0131 (Edinburgh) number call me saying "Hi I'm calling from Renault Wolverhampton, can I take some personal details..."

Now my car was in Renault Wolverhampton this week and I didn't have any problems but why would someone from Scotland say they were from a dealership in the West Midlands!?!?

Anyone else had this kind of call after taking a car into Renault for warranty/service work?

ive had it also, probably call centre is in edinburgh and the dealerships will forward your deatils onto them when you have had something done in the garage

Might be rerouting their phone calls through a cheap provider based in Scotland.

Think renault use a third party to collect some of there info. I have certainly expierenced that.

Did you give any personal details tho? Cos id be a bit weary, surely if ur car was in wolverhampton renault they would have your personal details!

Nope. I was on another call anyway so I had the cut the call short.

Mine went for a service last week and i had a note on the bill saying reno uk would be contacting me to ask what the service was like.

They'll just be using a call center up there!!

That was the weird thing. She said described herself as being from the dealer and also said "Renault Uk themselves may also call" !?!?!?

when i rang RUK about some warranty work earlier this week they hadn't registered me to the car! that was quite dodgy
