Welding Crown Wheel to LSD

as title....is that possible?

obv. you can just heat them up and put the crown wheel on but my gearbox guy seems to think spot welding it to the diff would be an idea.

The ampage required to create enough penetration on that thickness steel to give any extra shear strength, could possibly distort the final fixture?

I wouldnt bother personally. Its been done without welding, and without problems.

Quaife fitted the ring gear for me for no charge.

They machine two slots in to the ring gear to line up with two bearings in the diff to stop any possibility of it slipping.

Don't know if you can see them in the picture.
