What’s behind the arch-liner (172)

  Renault Laguna Coupe

My arch liners need some additional fixings to keep them in place. I was thinking of popping a couple of self-tapping screws through them to hold them to the bodywork. Whats behind the liners? Is it steel or plastic?

  Meg on pistonheads £6995

plastic close to bumpers (f&r), metal other

very risky due to water getting in on metal bodywork

mine are bowing outwards and catching the tyre on full lock. Front arches, the rearmost bit by the sill. Looks like theyve deformed for some reason.

mostly metal but be careful as you could nick some wiring at the front. pull them back and have a look first.

Deformed by all that heat from the wheels of all those track days Mike!!!

Dont think they are that expensive to replace. Easy enough to come off so check whats behind them before doing anything drastic.

Snapped the heads of the retainers when I fitted the Viper and had to remove the nearside one. Went into Renault with a £20 note ....just in case, you know Renault....to buy some new ones, and blimey 20p each!!!!
