What alternative to D40

Hello all,

Sorry if this has been asked, but now the D40 is out of production, what is the best alternative? I am asking for a friend who is looking for a D40 at the mo, but I believe they have been discontinued now!

I would say D60 but I think that is being replaced now too.

Entry models are now D3000/D5000.

D3000 is a bit higher price than the D60... but you can still buy them! Also look out for the Olympus E-450.

I'm sure I've seen D60's for sale still, might be able to get a good deal as it appears that the D3000 is replacing it.
