what brakes, 1.2 16V

hi, my disks are going to be needing changed pretty soon and im just wondering if i should just get standard disks with new pads or what, ive been looking at the K-Tec Fast Road front brake kit for £130 for disks and pads and was just wondering if its worth it (how much is standard disks and pads, J3NED :D lol) stoping power doesnt bother me to much as most of you know how lethal the 1.2 16V brakes can be anyway! but the quicker it stops the better.

and also the last question, how much extra on average would my insurance company add to my premium for upgraded brakes?

Im pretty sure Al (16vClio) has black diamond and he loves them! I have eurocarparts power discs which you dont need to declare to insurnace companies. Im happy with them and mine are smaller than dynamique ones, well for the moment anyway!

some insurance companies reduce your policy for having improved brakes, however they are in the vast majority. if you opt for improved pads/discs you dont need to inform your insurance as its a wear and tear component, in the same way you dont ring to say what tyres you have.

i've got brembo max discs with pagid max pads and think that (once bedded in) they're a great combination and are cheaper than the k-tec alternatives.
to be honest, the standard renault brakes arent too shabby anyway

it all depends on what the price for standard disks are if i'll go for anything better or not, i just dont mind paying a little extra for a little more show :D

cheers for the advice on insurance companys, was my main concern.

Standard cheap disks from Halfords or other places and halords pads aree fine I've been happy with them no insurance issues. Just stick some good brake fluid in and bleed the system.
If you want to upgrade do to ds2500 pads but I don't think you need them personally.

i had brembo max discs and pagid fast road pads on my 1.2 16v dynamique, cost less than 100 quid with cs discount from gsf. they were really good brakes! especially for the price
