what brakes

as the title says,

i have nearly worked my way through 1 set of pads already in 5 months ownership,

looking to replace the disks while im changing the pads, seems logical to me

what recommendations does everyone have?? bearing in mind i drive a 1.2 16v so 4-pots are not really neccessary, the existing set-up will do nicely, just want some fast road disks and pads

all suggestions (and prices) welcome, just not EBC, i have found their products to wear even quicker than OEM parts

im lookin for some new discs as well!

proberly goin for the k-tec fast road kit!

cross drilled discs and kevlar pads for bout £100

which EBC stuff have you used mate ?

most of the K-Tec gear is EBC an its very good

BRUN - Green Stuff pads and EBC Sport Rotor disks, had them on my uno turbo, they just disintegrated

so far the only suggestion had been k-tec, does no-one else recommend companies like Pagid, Ferrodo, Mintex or TarOx????

well tbh mate there all good makes, if you can afford em then Pagid are supposed to be really good

ive been in a 5GTT with a K-Tec brake kit tho, an ive never been in anythin that stopped as well as that did.....

if your goin for Tarox id stick to the Fast Road pads, i had the rally pads on my RT an u had to be givin it some to get the best out of em

i was only ever going to get fast road kit, i like a reaonable bit of performance from them even when cold

so what you decided on

id still go with K-Tec mate.......or maybe the Pagid from BB

Im about to swap mine for Pagid RS4.2 on Monday.

Ferodo DS2500 are excellent. Mintex 1144 will certainly do the job, or 1155s if you want to push the boat out. You cant chose pads just because theyre called kevlar, or metallic or whatever. Ideally you need to see their friction coefficient curve vs. Temperature. I have that info for Mintex, ferodo and certainly pagid, K-tec dont give it for their pads.

If you fancy the k-tec kevlars, ask for more details about them, and let us know what youre told. If theyre good, theyre certainly good value for money. ps youll notice K-tec have just added pagids to their product list.

they are good pads, that 5 i was in had those an its what K-Tec use in all/most of there kits

there EBC Kevlar.........

but much aint it Rob........not like its that fast to have to stop that well.......? just my opinion tho! Rob. Bambam.......ive done 15K and my pads look like new.........cause im gentle with the thing, dont wanna break it lol!

Yep completely over the top really, but i am making the best 1.2 in the country so i need this sort of stuff you see. I will have 100bhp at the end of the year it will be a beast i tells ya!

16v brakes, they will be far better

i had Tarox G88 on my RT, the 16v brakes i have now are better

I had a set of FERODO DS2000 on my williams and i found that they where sh*te when cold !! They took too long to get anywhere near a sensible, day to day usable heat. I reckon they would be a good track pad, but for day to day use crap.

Oh, I see, you just post stealing are you BRUN?! Naughty.. now go write some lines.

"Meguiars is better than Zymol" - I want that 100 times..
