What dya reck??

  Ph1.2 / VW Polo
Only passed in june and pretty sure my insurance policy dosent allow mods.
but i really wanna!

ive changed the front bumper from black plasitc one to colour coded fog lights, gonna do same to the back. surely thats nothing to worry about as its renault standard anyway?

but ive got some 40mm springs and 16" 172 wheels to go on that would look good.

When i asked about if mods were allowed they said they'd consider alloys if they were renault standard and same size. But they'll most probly put my cost up? which has already been payed off for a year.

can you getaway with un-declared 40mm springs? or does it make your insurance invalid.

argh just wanna have some fun

Use the search function as this has been done soo many times on here!

Basicly, anythign you change and dont declare will potentially risk your insurance being invalidated (it does happen!)

If you cant afford to pay the extra dont do the mod, simple :)

just wondering if my insurance is payed off for a year, and i wanted to change policy. Would they give me the money back for the months left on the contract?

you can make adjustments if they allow them (change off address etc, or add mods)

Just pay the difference, or sometimes and admin fee.

If you want to cancel the policy each company has their own view on this.
Some offer a 7 or 14 day cooling off period, where you get a full refund and cancel the policy.

Others normally go on a pro-rota basis.

So devided into months and they take either an extra month of whats left or a nominal fee. (you also obviously dont gain any NCB for that year)

Most of these detail will be ON the documentation they sent you or on the companies website.

its nots worth the risk, if your insurance becomes void from having undeclared mods worth £100 and you end up crashing into someones £60,000 bmw then your f*cked, you have to pay it out your own money

just been to insurance, lowering is a definte no.
alloys im only allowed ones same size as standard.

did the mk2 phase 1 1.2 have alloys as an extra? what size anyone know?

ah fokin gay.
i can change policy but not worth it, lose 6months worth of no claims.

or is it worth it :quiet:

mk2 ph2 have 15's dont know about ph1's though,
if your 19 then try brentacre, its awesome, both me and my bro have been with them for the last 3 years now. you can buy a modified car insurance premium allowing unlimited cosmetic mods, performance mods like lowering and alloys, and +10bhp so induction kit and full exhaust system, if you want more bhp you just pay a little more
