What graphics card..

Currently running a nvidia Geforce 5500 FX, which retails for around £30 now a days, looking at spending 60-100 so I presume I'll see an improvement. Have no idea about graphics cards!

Any recommendations, current card has a little sticker saying 'AGP CARD' on it, if that means anything.

I say this without any hesitation - GET THAT ONE. Its the one and only card you should be considering and the performance increase will be staggering to you

Well, if you currently have an AGP card, then that will work for you.

Just delete all graphics drivers, unplug the old one, plg in new one, install new drivers!

edit: just reading around and the GS is as good as the 6600GT, which sounds promising..also in the price range is the:

The latest platform is PCI-E. You should look into a PCI-Express enabled mobo, and get a PCI-E graphics card

If you aint changing mobo's tho, I would try to find a GT version rather then a GS.

do you mean vga connector? if so most come with dvi to vga connectors in the box.

I'd like a GT version but its another £60! Going PCI would mean new Mobo and loads of hassle, I'll wait till my next PC..

you should have a look on the overclockers members market, due to the 8800 release a lot of people will be flogging stuff.

Cheers for the help, amazed by the difference! I actually have texture on CS source and shadows etc etc etc! and get 40fps in water instead of 12!
