What Grease

Just about to lube my caliper sliding bolts up because one on the drivers side was seized up.

What grease would you use? at hand i have copper grease and White lithium grease, i was thinking a mixture of the two.

But i would like to know what they use from the factory.

I'm not sure about this either, was going to post about it. However, I know youre not to use copper grease as it's not really a lubricant, more an anti-seize grease.

Yeah i did think that, but i thought because they were seized up, if i add a little anti seize in with some grease it would do . .. . . . . . something ,. . lol

But then again, if the right grease is used, they wont seize, dunno?

CV joint grease is ok to use , only costs a couple of pounds for one sachet .Try your local motor accessories shop .

If they are seized it might be worth your while gettin some fine emery cloth and cleaning up the sliders inside and out before your regrease them .

Ah, cheers MrBilly. Is that the grease they use when they leave the factory? I only ask because it smells different th CV grease and looks blue-ish. Totally different stuff from what i put in my CV, unless thats what happens to the stuff over time??

The cv joint grease i used was grey ,tbh any high temp grease will be fine .Its not exactly a moving part that causes any friction , the grease is used more to keep the parts free from being seized and prevent corrosion .

Plus you don't need alot , just put a blob inside , coat the slider and put it back in and it should be fine.
