Dragged it out of hibernation, thought about washing it…gave up and went for a drive instead. Forgot how fun this little sh*tbox is!

Spent the rest of the day playing Tetris to get this out from the back of my garage to the front ready to have it fitted next week. RBRO22 5SXX rear cage with front RBR022 3SXX and cross door bars.

Can’t remember the last time I posted on here…my weekend car decided it didn’t want to come out of hibernation so the daily Trophy got dragged out for a good thrashing around the Peak District which reminded me why I have such a soft spot for Clios, Can honestly say I’d have had less fun in the Caterham

Just before the cat and fiddle on the annoying 50mph average camera bit, quite fun seeing if you can stay at 50 around all the tight corners though!

Didn’t go that way this time, headed back to Matlock through some very narrow winding bits

The extremely technical and involved process of swapping out the nearside rear indicator bulb.

I was pleasantly surprised that I knew exactly where my pack of spare Silvatec bulbs were, also.

Out with the old...

In with the new!

Somehow snapped a bolt while undoing it, luckily there's plenty of thread poking out the back so I'll get a set of pliers on there and remove it when I've got a spare. May as well replace all 6 tbh.

Only thing that's odd is that the sidelights don't work, but stupidly I didn't bother checking them first so I don't know if they were already dead or if it's something I've done 🤷🏻‍♂️ seems unlikely that I've managed to kill two LED bulbs but I'll stick some replacements in and see.

Pretty happy with the quality from Depo, they're certainly good enough that I'm in no rush to get my original ones polished up and back in, though I will do eventually.

Definitely polarity, I did the same on my driver's side headlight, tested before I put the bumper back fortunately on and easily swapped it.

Oh maybe then, I assumed the little W5W ones could be installed either direction 🤔
I hope you didn't push one pin of the headlights when inserting the connector, i did that once, the sidelight was the only one that didn't work, ended up returning one to autodoc as damaged, and only after i checked the connector and saw that one side was kindly bent, almost screw'd the replacement one too.

Today i did some spacers in my dci for lowering the steering wheel, turned out pretty good i guess;

I hadn't even considered that 🤔 I'll have a look when it's all apart again and double check everything. Fingers crossed the weather stays fine tomorrow

Where abouts did you get them from? Had a quick search but can't find a matching pair.

Finally got around to tidying up my Dad's MR2 Roadster which has been sat on the drive for the last 2 years after he fell ill.

-Fresh engine oil & filter
-New Discs & Pads all around
-All Calipers cleaned and repainted silver.
-Replacement set of OEM wheels, the current ones were corroded beyond repair.
-Deep outside clean. Lots of cobwebs and dust to remove! Inside still yet to do.

Sadly it's rather rusty underneath, hoping it will pass it's MOT but I'm a little concerned some of it is maybe worse than surface rust.

It still drives lovely. Seating position is great, gearbox feels tight and the handling is spot on. No worrying knocking noises or rattles.
If it passes, the plan is to drive it a little this summer, and maybe an evening track session to give it a bit of a send-off, then whack it on eBay for 99p.

I cleaned, clay barred and waxed my roof and bonnet. Actually the first time I ever used wax. Serves me right for parking it under a big arse tree for four days. Going to do the rest of it another day

Found out there's a DIY car wash next to the automated one I usually go to that has snowfoam instead of shitty brushes. No idea what any of the buttons meant but I went through them in order and the car looks great, all things considered 👌
Thought I'd take a couple of photos before it's ruined by the tree I parked under 🙄

had the air con in two of our cars re-gassed. They both stopped working within a couple of days of each other a few weeks ago.

I'm suspecting there's a leak in both of them, but forgot to mention this to the guy gassing them when he did the first one. On the second one he put in a UV leak detection fluid.

Glad they both take the old cheaper gas.
