What have you done to your car today ???

I fitted the SXE-1350s on the front, cool stuff! The tweeter units are however too small, I will be leaving the OEM ones for now.

I couldn’t get aftermarket ones to fit nicely on mine so just disconnected the originals and went with door speakers only. It was miles better without them.

Sounds reasonable, so your new door speakers have tweeters integrated?

I also fitted the 1325s on the rear. Overall sounds a lot better but that’s only because the factory speakers were completely knackered. Surprised they lasted 23 years.

I am running all this with an Alpine head unit. Couldn’t live without BT.

I am also thinking about fitting a KTP-445A as an HU basic amp. Haven’t made up my mind yet.

Yeah, they have the tweeters built in. They are alpines of some flavour.

Picked up a Genuine NOS windscreen for the Cup as mine is peppered to f**k with stone chips making it hard to see through along with some windscreen seals. Now to find someone local to remove and refit it.

Big day on the car today for me.
Diagnosed my broken fag lighter as a blown fuse and replaced. Then glued in the rear number plate screw fitting as it was loose.

Took the side skirt & drivers wing to check. Glad I did. Less than an hours work to get to this stage but well worth doing.

First post on this forum.
Had the car in the family a few years - son had it and now I do. Needed a bit of work - had an oil leak from the gearbox, a bit tatty inside and out.
Found a local company to do the work - https://redlinesportscars.com/ (specialise in Marcos, but very good auto engineers). So, as the gearbox was coming out, fitted a LSD, new clutch plus lightweight flywheel. Fitted short shift kit, some new engine mounts, replaced all the important fluids, replaced the headlining and generally sorted a few bits out here and there and gave it a good spanner check
A really nice car now and booked in to my local track (Castle Combe) in July for a track day

Did you remove the dash top or did they?
I did to make it easier for them and so I could get to the popped clock bulbs.

Oh and so I could completely f**k up the de-stickying of the centre bit and buy another one to replace it.

Do you notice anything untoward?

My car's centre panel in the dash was painted by the previous owner in an attempt to resolve the stickiness (along with the interior door handles). It's not a very good attempt at matching the colour.

Is the centre panel from the dash able to be removed/detached. Or is it completely moulded in?

The way round it is to get a couple of old credit cards and cut a hole in the middle to fit the alpine tweeter. You can then cut the credit card outer edges to fit the hole on the Clio. You can then fit the Clio tweeter grille on top and you'll never see the credit card and it will all look OEM.

Plastic welded tabs hold it in annoyingly. Don’t know why they couldn’t make it clip in so you can get to the stuff easier.

I'll be taking the top off my dash in the next few months to fix the drivers air vent AND to find all those bits that rattle to death whilst on the move.

Finally got round to putting new retaining clips on my rattling exhaust heat shielding and sorted my cruise control. Probably still won't ever use cruise control but it was annoying me that it didn't work 😎

Fitted new radiator to cup number 2, as you can see well off its best, probably the original one it was a Valeo rad. Had the new radiator for a while and wanted to do the change out in better weather. No pics of it finished yet as I'm waiting on type D coolant and a thermostat to replace out. Here's confirmation that the Nissens 637931 is the correct one for the cup also.

It's going in to the bodyshop next week for some work. Full underside refurb and underseal, including a new arch on the nearside rear due to the start of some tin worm.

My old Civic needed both arches welding up, the rest of it was fine. Had to get rid in the end, because of ULEZ, and now have the Clio as a run around.
