What is pipe on rear of TB for?

  ClioSport 172 Cup
Just modified my inlet, fitted a BMC CDA straight off the TB with a cold feed pipe. I removed the acoustic valve a while back and blocked up the small pipe connector on the front of the throttle body, what exactly does that pipe do on the rear of the throttle body? Is that there for an actual purpose or does it do very little? Can it be removed?
I took it off and it always seems dry like its just part of the breather system which i have filtered off anyway. :approve:
