What make is my car Stereo inside my Clio 197 (08 plate)

Hi all

Im trying to find out what the make of my car stereo is in my Clio 197.

Its a bog standard stereo which comes with the car from new, i have the serial number but renault only have it listed as a radio rather than who has made it.


Would any one know ?

Dont they use Alpine stuff for their sound systems?
Just a guess, as the CD changer in 172's is Alpine, so may use the same brand for the whole systems.

its sh.it lol but a word of warning if ur going to change it u will loose ur centre display and ur steering wheel controls a harsh leston that i have since learned

You can buy an adapter so that the steering column controls still work though.

i changed the stereo in mine to a sony one and was told the lead to make my steering wheel controls work was going to cost £130!!!!

Sounds like they were trying it on, I paid about £13 for mine IIRC.

its a sony u put in mine and halfords quoted me a 130 aswell but i shoped around. were did u get the adapter for that cheap spill the beans my friend

halford was the place they wanted £130 quid for the lead too, surely that cant be right! anyway i didnt buy it and now dont have steering wheel controls

I'd look into it further, £130 for a lead sounds pretty crazy... I'd want a headunit included at that price lol.

Ditto. But I was told by "Road Radio" in Blackheath, SE London. I was a bit confused at why it cost so much.

Strange stuff, can't belive the difference in price tbh. Definately only paid about £13 for my Pioneer headunit lead from Halfords.
