what makes my clio exclusive

Hi guys

just bought my first 172 2 weeks ago, still smiling plus laughing that i got the insurance so cheap coz i never thought i could afford one

i was looking at the log book and its down as a 172 exclusive but cant see much difference between normal 172s and mine, i know the mrk1 exclusive was allot different coz it was limited and had full leather etc but mine is a mrk2 so all the difference i can see it i got a multichanger and carbon detailing on the dash, steerin wheel and gear nob and thats about it

any ideas? cheers

pics???? they NEVER made a mk2 exclusive

ive NEVER seen a mk2 with

multichanger is normal on mk2 172s

i never heard of a mrk2 exclusive either, its wierd if you put the number plate into the AA numberplate check it comes up as

Depends what he means by carbon detailing The MK2 172 does have them in carbon effect.... just a very cheap printed effect. have never liked those bits.

yes well printed carbon effect then, i take it then this is just a random thing that doesnt acctually exist, just wierd its down everywere as exclusive, nevermind loving the car anyway

I have had a search round as not seen nor heard of one before and can only find the mk1s... Is it an import or anything?

cheers but its an uk spec can a car be logged wrong somewere as where ever u put the numberplate in it comes back as exclusive, must be an error coz i cant see no difference, just had a look on some pics or the interior of 172 mine seems darker than others maybe it just crapy pics but mine seems much darker that others or im going mental from lack of sleep, are 172s black inside?

anyone else got their 172 down as exclusive??, my reault dealer also called it exclusive! is this just bulls**t

Sorry mate you only get a mk1 172 exclusive. Only comes in scarab green with bbs alloys and full leather interior, no such thing as a mk2 172 exclusive

lol, nice thought, the guy before me fitted a thatcham alarm so he put it there i must have the only mrk 2 exclusive even though they dont exist and look no diffrent to any other 172, oh well it logged everywere as an exclusive so i can pretend it exclusive lol

coz all uk cars got an alarm fitted as std, does your windows have any numbers etched onto them ??

i think it did have an alarm but the guy upgraded it

ive only got the standard things etched on to the windows but here they are anyway:

contact the previous owner is the best, I would say its an import because my last car was.

If you take it to your nearest dealer they will tell you as well.

all your windows should have a frosted etching on them, (side windows, back window, windscreen, do you have a white sticker on your windows ?

the sticker is put on when the windows are etched (this could have been removed tho), if you dont have etching on every window (frosted etching, not black writing) then its almost certainly an import

there is that etchin on every window in black, i was lookin at the EU certificate of conformity and it states the vehicle is for states that have left hand traffic only, if it was an import wouldnt it say for right hand traffic only?

no, because its a right hand drive,

the log book will have a dealers stamp in it on the front page, if its not a UK dealers its most prob an import or ring renault cust serices they will tell you in 2 minutes where it came from

i think its an import, you should have the etching, do you have locking nuts on your alloys?, its not a problem being an import but it would have been nice to know it was one

yes i do have locking nuts, true not a problem that its an import but yes would of been nice to have been told, gonna get in touch with reault customer services on monday to see what they say, i will update u on my saga lol cheers for the help
